Stephanie Powers plays Patricia Carroll who is held captive by her insane mother-in-law who blames her for her son's death. When it's discovered Patricia's fiance is coming to the house to look for her, Mrs. Trefoil and her housekeeper Anna overpower her, tied her hands and feet and gag her. Mrs. Trefoil guilelessly lets the young man inside as Patricia struggles to escape her bonds or at least wriggle her way out of the upstairs room and and alert Allen to her plight. Later, the crazy old woman has an epiphany and decides to kill Patricia as a 'sacrifice' for her lost son, but Allen returns and with the aid of the staff breaks in and saves Patricia.
