Kate Hodge portrays Death, who is imprisoned by King Sisyphus who is desperate to live after he displeases Zeus. He lures Death into participating at a sumptuous banquet, but the chair is rigged with manacles and chains and so he captures Death and deprives her of her eternal flame, thus denying Death her power ( a beeswax candle). without her touch, the candle burns down quickly and when it goes out, Death is gone as well. Hades, Death's brother commissions Xena to rescue her and after eluding the king's deadly traps, as well as a gang of mercs who won't stay dead, Xena uses her incredible chakram to break the chains and set Death loose.
