Samantha Kane (played by Geena Davis) thinks she's an ordinary school teacher with amnesia about her past and falls into danger while uncovering the truth- that's she's a cold hard assassin for the federal government out to stop some terrorists. After being knocked out, she awakes to find herself bound to a water wheel and about to be dunked in icy cold water over and over until she reveals why she has 're-surfaced. Initially terrified and confused, the stress of the torture begins to awaken her real personality- until she bursts out of the water with a defiant primal scream.
*The critics were positively brutal to this film, but I enjoyed it a lot. There's an absolute dearth of good strong female characters in movies, that aren't jiggling in spandex (not that there's anything totally wrong with that either).*
