A cursed compact allows the ugly duckling of the family to seek revenge against her beautiful sister Joanne (played by Gwendolyn Pacey) by bewitching her boyfriend. He stuns Joanne and carries her upstairs then leaves for the prom with the ugly sister. Next we see Joanne gagged, hands tied behind her back, perched precariously on tip-toes on a stool with a noose around her neck.
