The infamous killer Splitface kidnaps Tess Trueheart (played Anne Jefferies) to keep Dick Tracy and the cops off his tail. Junior hitches a ride on the fleeing vehicle, leading Tracy to the killer's hideout. Tess is hand-gagged and dragged away from the phone, then carried off to a waiting car. We next see her gagged and tied hand and foot. Splitface discovers Junior and he joins her as a prisoner.
