Naomi Watts as Anna in a scene from 'Funny Games'
The Ring star admits she didn't have to act out scenes in which she was uncomfortable and humiliated - because she was in a state of panic for real.
Playing a mum and wife, who is tormented and tortured by two psychotic home invaders, Watts was tied up in her underwear for half of the disturbing Michael Haneke film.
She recalls, "It was very, very hard to do and the fact that I had to do the rest of the film in my underwear was incredibly difficult but it helped me in a way get closer to the tension and the vulnerability and that feeling of utter violation.
"I was properly bound up... I literally could not move. There were no sort of slipknots or cheating. I found myself going, 'I can't do this. I'm incapacitated', which added to my frustration and emotion."
