A complicated story of child murder, police corruption and revenge ends with the abduction of Laurie and Kate Armstrong (played by Kate Capshaw and a very young Scarlet Johansen respectively) at the hands of a wrongly accused man who was savagely mutilated in prison. she see the captives cleave-gagged, hands tied behind them seated in chairs in a cabin in the Louisiana bayou.
