Three words I thought I'd never use together describe this film: madcap Russian comedy. Nerdy Shurik travels to Caucas in search of native legends and folklore, but what he finds is a beautiful girl named Nina (played by Natalya Varley) whom he ends up helping to abduct, thinking all the time it's just another old Caucasian custom. When the girl escapes, a chase ensues with our 'hero' in hot pursuit of both the girl of his dreams and the gang whose trying to re-capture her. she's carried off in her huge sleeping bag and later loaded bound and seriously gagged- as in all the way up to her eyelids with a huge yellow cloth- into a car, strugling all the way.
