In this somewhat bleak fantastical comedy, Cameron Diaz portrays Celine Neville who is kidnapped (albeit with her assistance) by a desperate loser who works for her black-hearted corporate jerk of a father and winds up falling in love with him. He ties her to a chair with cloth strips as he explains the situation, while she in turn relates her kidnapping at age 12. Later, she is captured and held for ransom by the two bounty hunters whom her father had hired to rescue her.
