In this first of the Daniel Craig era James Bond movies, Eva Green plays Vesper Lynd an accountant in MI6 overseeing Bond's handling of millions of dollars in a high-stakes Texas hold'em poker game (in order to get at a creepy banker who finances terrorist groups). In this short bit, Vesper is captured by some thugs and tossed into the back of a car. Bond gives chase, and we see our damsel bound lying in the middle of the road!
*I had the same reaction a lot of people did to this scene, not the car!! Overall, I liked this newest incarnation of Bond; the burly, brawny, man of action and attitude without all the ridiculous plot-saving gadgetry from the previous endeavors (not excepting the conveniently placed mini-defibrillator in the car). At times, I could feel myself aging during the poker game sequences but there was some subtle character interplay going on there. There was another bit where Vesper is carried into an adjoining room inside a ruined ship for interrogation, but she's not seen at all in that sequence so we can watch a nude Bond get his daddy bits beaten to a pulp with a heavy rope- OUCH!!*
