Holly Hunter portrays heavy drinking, hard working, promiscuous Oklahoma City detective Grace Hanadarko who in this opener is getting her kink on with Zeke, a local boy- who has Grace tied down face down on the bed fully nude, her arms stretched out and fastened with fuzzy handcuffs to the bed-frame. An unfortunate slip of the tongue puts Zeke on the run, leaving Grace in her compromising position on the bed. When her boyfriend Ham comes along and discovers Grace (as well as the young man's name written in lipstick on her butt) he gets pissed and leaves her there as well. To make matters worse, Grace's guardian angel shows up to give her an ear-full, since there's nothing she can do about it. The pressing urgency of a murder case however, forces Ham to return and release her.
