In this prequel, Rhona Mitra plays Sonja a formerly high-ranking member of a vampire coven who, after a duel with her father's troops in a vain attempt to escape with her werewolf lover is captured, stripped of her rank and summarily sentenced to death by sunlight. Things end badly for the two lovers.
*A rare case of the prequel being superior to the original. I really liked this movie, it reminds me a lot of my Vampire LARPing (live action role-playing) days. Rhona's just gorgeous of course. There's some subtlety in her performance during the trial sequence, her expressions etc.*
