Karina Lombard plays slave girl/fortune teller Zaretta in this fantasy action movie. In the opening bit, Zaretta is falsely accused of King Kull's murder by his new bride (who in actuality is a 1000-year-old demon sorceress resurrected by a group of conspirators who want the throne) she is summarily arrested by the palace guard and sentenced to death by burning at the stake. Later, having been drugged by one of Kull's old sailing buddies who plans to sell them all back to the evil queen they just escaped from, Zaretta pulls a knife on the man and in a fit of pique has her bound to a long rope and thrown overboard.
Trivia from the IMDB:
Originally meant to be the third Conan film "Conan the Conqueror", the script was rewritten as "Kull" for Kevin Sorbo when Arnold Schwarzenegger refused to reprise his role.
While practicing for the fight scenes, Kevin nicked himself with a dull prop sword and at his request he was given a rubber-bladed replacement.
The famous "With this axe, I rule!" line at the end of the movie is actually the title of a Robert E. Howard short story about Kull, which was rejected by Howard's then primary publisher, "Weird Tales" magazine.
The name of Akivasha (the demon sorceress played by Tia Carrera) comes from a minor character from the novel "The Hour of the Dragon" by Robert E. Howard.
