In pre-war Europe, a young American entertainer has second thoughts about the Austrian noble she's about to wed, because where ever he goes, the Nazis invariably follow. Her situation turns grim when she is placed under house arrest suspected of being a spy by the Gestpo, but a old friend Anna (played by Natasha Lytess) comes in as a maid and formulates a daring but simple plan to help the woman escape.
