Angie Harmon plays Detective Jane Rizzoli in this brand new crime drama on TNT. In this first bit told as a flashback, Jane recalls her first moment of fear and doubt about staying a cop as she is pinned to the floor (literally) alongside another victim (played by an unknown at this time) who is gagged and bound with duct tape in the basement lair of a serial killer known as the Surgeon. Later, Jane is called to a scene and lured to a morgue van by a man in uniform to identify a body, that might be her young neighbor. Jane gets into the van, unzips the body bag and the killer sits up and zaps her with a stun gun after which his apprentice injects her in the neck with a drug that renders her unconscious.
Jane awakens bound and gagged with duct tape in the van with the killer leering over her, armed with her gun and a scalpel. After the essential gloating scene, he peels off the tape gag and gives Jane a neat little gash to remember him by before exiting the van to help his assistant make the final preparations for her. Jane quickly hatches an escape plan...

*Excellent new show ! I hope it sticks around for more than the obvious reasons (wink, wink). I was also pleasantly surprised to see Micheal Massee who played Funboy in the movie The Crow as the killer.*
