In this classic spy thriller, Faye Dunaway plays Kathy Hale, who finds herself held hostage in her apartment by a man claiming to be a CIA agent, who is inadvertently caught in the middle of a power struggle inside the agency, with no one to trust. Needing her car, he overpowers Kathy, drags her into the bathroom and trusses her up with stockings and then gags her with a washcloth and his tie. Returning, he finds the phone ringing over and over and so he fetches Kathy, ungags and unties her and then forces her to answer the phone at gunpoint to allay the caller.
