In this clip, Kirsten Dunst plays Mary Jane Watson, who has just settled into a NYC cafe to resolve her romantic issues with Peter Parker, but new super-villain Doctor Octopus interrupts their tender moment by chucking a sedan through the front window, nearly crushing the pair. Doctor Octopus makes a grand entrance and after demanding Parker find Spiderman for him, he kidnaps Mary Jane, carrying her high over the rooftops clutched in one of his metal tentacles. Out at his newly re-built laboratory over the Hudson River, Doc Ock is trying to recreate his artificial sun experiment, as Mary Jane stands witness, hands tied overhead and bound to steel girder. Our spunky damsel whistles to tear his attention away from the experiment and demand to be let go, but he naturally refuses, since she'll just bring the police- and besides Spiderman is dead so no one can stop him anyway. But our hero creeps and crawls into the hideout to save the girl, Doc Ock spies him and smiles knowingly and so the boys start to settle their issues physically as the artificial sun springs to life and nearly sucks Mary Jane to a fiery demise...
*I had such hopes for this franchise. The first two movies were good, but the third was just awful- it reminded me of the previous Batman movies where they tried to cram as many villains in as possible and to hell with the story. Sad.*
