Hopelessly cliched super-villain Megamind returns to his evil lair from prison to do what he does best, kidnap the local snoopy reporter Roxanne Ritchie (voiced by Tina Fey) to taunt his nemesis Metro Man into another death trap to destroy him. However, Roxanne is unimpressed with her situation and doesn't give the villain the satisfaction of a damsel scream, even after he re-introduces her to his arsenal of death traps. Megamind broadcasts his threat to our hero who dashes to save the girl. Later in the film, feeling bored with Metro Man out of the way for good, Megamind gives super powers to a cameraman to create another superhero to challenge him, but Titan turns evil after Roxanne breaks his heart and so he kidnaps her and binds her to the top of Metro City's tallest building, taunting Megamind (who is cooling his heels in prison) to come and save her.
