In this thriller about how far some anti-death penalty activists will go to prove their agenda, Kate Winslet plays investigative reporter Bitsey Bloom who decides to replicate the apparent murder that David Gale sits on death row for committing. She gags herself with duct tape, tapes a ag on the floor and handcuffs herself behind the back, before reclining in roughly the same posture the victim's body was found as her friend times her with his watch. Naturally it doesn't take long for her to begin to choke and he has to save her.
