In this latest update of the classic cartoon series, The Hex Girls world tour is threatened when a phantom appears onstage issuing ominous threats and drops a huge speaker on the lead singer, Thorn. She recovers quickly and it's decided that Daphne will take her place onstage for the next performance. After her goth makeover, and a killer performance, the phantom re-appears, and Freddy springs his trap. But the cages land on two bandmates instead and the baddie spirits Daphne away. Freddy ascends the catwalk to investigate and discovers the traps were sabotaged, but fails to see Daphne gagged, tied up and hanging in the rafters. The rope holding her snaps but she lands safely and is recovered by two stagehands.

*I was surprised at how well this new series is written. It's no Shakespeare In The Round, but for a kid's cartoon, it's surprisingly sophisticated.*
