Whatever happened to allowing kids to be kids? They have years ahead of them to allow their parents, teachers, and peers to screw up their sexual identities without foisting the gay marriage of two beloved fictional characters onto their developing consciousness. I can't believe a topic that's been featured in more post-bar drunken discussions than Paris Hilton's herpes has received this sort of media attention and was deemed worthy to qualify for a petition. If I were more paranoid, I'd think it was a planted story created by gay marriage opponents to discredit the movement. But unfortunately, like every other social group there's that 1% of precious dumbasses who take themselves so seriously and treat the movement so earnestly that nothing, no matter how asinine is off the table. One step forward, two steps back.
