In this high energy science fiction action series, Eve Myles plays Gwen Cooper who is hit from behind and knocked out by an unknown assailant. Her companion Jack comes to her rescue, and finds her trussed up and OTM gagged with patching cables. He's knocked out as well and wakes up tied up beside her with the man looking for answers regarding Jack and the Miracle Day- even threatening to cut Gwen's throat. He's about to make a revelation about Jack but is shot by Rex. Later, housewife turned political spitfire Ellis Hartley Monroe (played by Mare Winningham) finds she's reached the end of her usefulness to mysterious forces and wakes up gagged and bound in the back of a car which is then winched up, dropped into compactor and crushed. However due to the presence of a wonder drug in her system, she survives the ordeal, well sort of...
