Going further back in the story, Ruth Hope (Arline Pretty) and Tom are trapped in a cabin by baddies, but Ruth makes a break for it and dashes off to find help. Her search brings her to some railroad tracks where cruel fate allows her to get one riding boot trapped between the tracks as they change in the face of an oncoming train. Ruth closes her eyes and awaits the inevitable....
