Lois Lane, Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen travel to Scotland to investigate an allegedly haunted castle, but the owners are afraid the snooping reporters will uncover that their clan murdered the previous owner and stole the castle and decide to get rid of them. Later in the episode after a narrow escape from a loch dwelling sea serpent by taking refuge in a cavern, Lois and Jimmy find their small boat swept up in a underground current and brought back to the very feet of one of the Killbanes who is armed with a rifle. Superman is kept at bay by the sight of the pair helplessly bound, gagged and suspended from a castle turret over a row of deadly sharp defensive blades, and the baddies demand that the Man of Steel help lay the ghost to rest or Lois and Jimmy will die. But the clever Kryptonian makes a pact with the ghost and saves the day.
