In this cartoon loosely based on the famous Enid Blyton children's' mysteries, the kids of the original Five now go about solving crimes. In this case, neighborhood is sullied by the terrible smell of methane which eventually leads Allie Campbell and a determined reporter to the doorstep of an old home being renovated by a charming couple. After barging their way in the troublesome snoops are captured, bound and gagged and left in a tunnel the duo have been digging under the house with a huge drilling machine-- which leads straight to the bank they intend to rob. The rest of the Five and Timmy the dog turn up looking for their missing friends and are promptly captured and tied up as well. Bags of loot in hand, the criminals set the drilling machine on one final trip, with the intent of setting off a huge methane gas pocket, which will explode and collapse the tunnel !!
