Droopy and his son Drippy are charged with keeping actress Melody Stardust safe on the set of her new movie as she's being stalked by a crazed phantom in the catwalks above the sound stage. In the first bit, Melody is playing the classic damsel tied the railroad tracks, who is supposed to escape the ropes at the last moment before the train cuts her down. Trouble is-- the knots are too tight, and she can't escape, even with Droopy's help. Together he and Drippy toggle the lever controlling the tracks and the train passes safely around her. Afterward, one by one two blond dancers (including our heroine) are snatched off-stage by a hook and we see Melody gagged and slung over the shoulder of a fleeing shadowy figure...
