In this episode, Lois Lane (Noel Neill) arranges to vanish so she can get close to a reclusive crime boss. One of his flunkies falls hard for her which backfires horribly when he tracks Lois down and his boss comes along with him. Clark gets shot in the resulting altercation as Lois, the police chief and Jimmy Olsen get kidnapped and taken to an old mine and tied to the support beams, as the boss plans to yank out the other beams and collapse the mine on top of them (even though they are outside of it ??) . Superman saves the day, of course.
