The trio are discovered and rescued later by an elderly former bishop (who fancies himself an amateur detective) gagged and bound up in forward hogties. Later in the film, Hester Grantham (played by a young Maureen O'Sullivan) and her beau find the tables turned on them by their own gang who believe the lovers are holding out on them. They are captured at a tavern and kept tied up in the attic for a time until they convince the gang they can help them make one last big score, in exchange for their freedom.
