In this extended clip from the 2006 film, Christina Ricci plays sexually abused town tramp Rae who is discovered nearly beaten to death on a country road by a burned out, god-fearing blues man who takes her in to nurse her back to health. As Rae recovers, she lashes out in "fever dreams" and so the old man decides to chain her up for her own good, locking a long heavy steel chain around her waist and anchoring it to the radiator. When Rae fully recovers, she realizes she's chained up and no amount of cajoling, screaming, threats, bribing or sexual overtures will make her good-intentioned captor change his mind. He drags her back into the house foot by foot with the chain after an unsuccessful escape attempt. After an argument, Rae can't sleep until she systemically wraps herself tightly in the chain. Later, a sexually frustrated Rae 'attacks' a young man visiting the blues man's house.
