In the basement of an orphanage, young Haley (played by Ali Skovbye) is strapped into an old chair so she can have her memories erased by the creepy as hell proprietor Granny Goodness. Meanwhile, Tess (played by Cassidy Freeman) has nightmares, which leads to a quest to the same creepy orphanage. Clark hears Haley's muffled cries and comes to her rescue. Later, Tess is attacked by two of the new recruits for Darkseid's army on armed with a steel claw and the other with a pair of bullwhips. Tess knocks out claw girl before getting caught by the neck with a bullwhip. Clark finds Tess dangling by her neck from a noose and burns the rope with his heat vision. Two whips girl turns up, but Clark high-speed beats her down and trusses her up in her own whips.
