Sandra Bullock plays sweet, naive Diane Shaver in this confused remake of a French/Dutch thriller about a psychiatrist whose obsession with human fear and trauma have driven him to criminal extremes. In this clip, at a convenience store, Diane bumps into the man at a lottery vending machine, and after a pleasant exchange about the bracelet he's wearing, he convinces her to accompany him to his car so he can give her another bracelet at cost. At the vehicle he tells her to get in and help him with a heavy box in the back seat (marked tiles). After some misgivings, she's mollified by the picture on the dashboard of the man posing with his family, and gets in the car. Surreptitiously, the man prepares a rag with chloroform and pounces when Diane is in an awkward posture. Diane fights, cries out and struggles but is soon rendered unconscious....
