In this extended clip from the drama, Luli McMullen (Chloë Grace Moretz) runs away from home to escape her alcoholic parents and begin a sojourn to Las Vegas. Later in the movie, Luli gets picked up by Eddie after she tries and fails to scam a pool player out of some cash. Eddie tries to put the moves on her, but she rejects him and gets out of the truck. Eddie chases her down and attacks her in the woods ( not shown).
Luli wakes up later tied to a bed in an unknown room with a window overlooking the woods, wearing different clothing and with short black hair instead of her long blonde hair. Eddie arrives shortly after with a bouquet of flowers. He affectionately promises never to rape her again, only to tie her up when he leaves. Eddie unties Luli quickly because the landlord, Beau (Alec Baldwin), is at the door. Eddie suspects what Luli was trying to do, but in a state of denial, declares that he trusts her and does not believe she was trying to betray him.
Eddie leaves again, and Luli falls back asleep. After several hours have gone by, Luli wakes up to see Glenda standing over her. Glenda explains to Luli when she was the same age as Luli, she had also formed a relationship with Eddie.She states that she hadn't stopped looking for Luli since she vanished and then realized what Eddie had done. As she unties Luli, they start to sing "You Are My Sunshine" in an attempt to calm her down. Eddie enters the room, joining in on the song, holding the Smith and Wesson in his hand. Things turn tragic past this point.
