Tori Spelling plays malicious reporter Linda Lake in this episode in which she intends to reveal Clark's secret and destroy his life. Toward the end of the episode, Linda and Clark have a final confrontation, in which Clark shows her his news report about a number of murders she's committed. Linda is unmoved and so Clark yanks a wire from the wall and electrocutes her, knocking her unconscious. In a criminal containment ward at the hospital, Linda is seen secured to a gurney with straps and shackles. A paramedic visits her on her request, since she's learned that the man is secretly the homicidal mutant strongman Doomsday. Linda tries to taunt the man into "freeing the beast" to set herself free, but things take a sudden dark turn when he pulls the pillow out from under her head and suffocates her to death.
