Russian thugs hijack Air Force One in a bid to free a despotic general from custody in this action thriller. In this first bit, the President's wife and daughter Grace and Alice Marshall (Wendy Crewson & Liesel Matthews, respectively) are kept prisoner in another part of the plane, away from the others. The lead thug binds Alice's wrists together in front with duct tape as he tries to rationalize to her his actions are no different from her father, a former U.S. soldier himself. She doesn't accept this naturally and calls the man a monster.
They are seen again later, seated together as the leader grows increasingly frustrated with the President's guerrilla tactics that have made his capture impossible, and is killing more and more terrorists. Toward the end of the film, Grace is taken at gunpoint and in the cargo hold of the plane, the lead baddie forces the President to disarm, but a twist of fate disarms him, leaving Grace with the rifle and the boys to fight it out.
* I liked this movie, but I felt Gary Oldman was largely wasted, since he couldn't hardly speak about that thick muffled Russian accent.*
