Damsel in Distress: Part 1 - Tropes vs Women in Video Games By Anita Sarkeesian (Feminist Frequency )
*Quite a long video, be advised.*
Important caveats here:
1.My intention is to generate thought and discussion, not to impose a philosophy. Take what's said with a grain of salt if you dislike it. There's some interesting historical perspective on the topic to be had here.
2. I consider myself a feminist, but I also feel if one is so inclined, it's perfectly acceptable for a ferociously independent woman to want to be grabbed by her hair, overpowered and tied to a chair or what have you, by a consenting informed lover.
3. She has a few valid points, women do tend to get a raw deal in gaming.
