Our affable, down-on-his-luck investigator is one more neck-deep in trouble when he gets involved with a recent parolee who was involved with a bank robber and now wants to collect a reward for the return of some stolen loot. At a hotel room, he cuts a deal for 20% of the money with Carol Thorne (Lynnette Mettey) but then snatches her gun away and ties her up with his neck tie. He tries to gag her by stuffing a hankie in her mouth, but she clamps her mouth shut until he stomps on her foot. Afterward, with the baddies on his tail, Jim recollects Carol and they drive away.
