In this episode, some crooks get their hands on a lump of green kryptonite, but manage to lose it in the woods around their hideout. Lana Lang finds it and makes a necklace out of it, and so Superboy finds himself forced to avoid her. The crooks discover Lana has the kryptonite and grab her off the street to recover it and take her along as a hostage when the cops get too close. At the hideout, Lana sits tied to a chair and nearly spills the beans about how the kryptonite affected her friend Clark Kent (dumb-ass). Superboy pulls the old switcheroo and swaps the kryptonite for a fake before swooping into save Lana.
