Stacy Torrance (Mala Powers) is on the lam after murdering her abusive husband and so our hero has her hole up in the town hotel. He returns on some errand, and finds her missing and the room up-ended. finding the room key in the door lock and discovering the desk clerk with incriminating scratches on his face, reveals the truth and she's found crouching bound and gagged on the floor of the closet. Our hero locks the man in the closet in reprisal.
