Pretty Carol Lynley plays Annabelle West in this classic 70's creeper about the heirs to an eccentric old man's fortune who gather together at his mansion, only to get picked off one by one by a killer with a mutilated face and cat's claws. Toward the end of the film, Annabelle goes slinking about the house in her nightgown armed with a pistol only to get caught and hand-gagged by the killer and dragged off down a secret passage. The killer is unmasked and revealed to be another potential heir to the fortune who's angry that Annabelle was the old man's "favorite". Annabelle runs to the arms of another man whom she believes has come to rescue her, but he's in on the plot for a portion of the inheritance as well as the thrill of murder. Annabelle is knocked out, strapped, manacled and collared into a metal torture chair, as well as gagged with (ridiculously) tiny swatch of white tape. While one killer goes up to recover a lost medal that could be evidence against him, the other taunts Annabelle with an array of sharp implements. Our hero finally arrives in time to shoot him stone dead.
