In this pilot episode, the investigative couple are invited to the house of famous actress for the weekend, where a corpse pops up in a closet and the elderly housemaid goes missing. Later in the episode, Pamela North (Barbara Britton) does some snooping in the basement and is attacked from behind, hand-gagged and shoved violently by her assailant. Her klutzy husband comes to her aid and they discover the maid Mrs. Sherwood (Sarah Padden) lying on an old swinging bench, gagged with a large white cloth.
