Shauna MacDonald plays bank manager Ruth Skellar who is taken hostage during a robbery by a desperate man trying to support his ailing wife after his health insurance is cut off. Toward the end of the episode, he gags her her and ties her hands in front with packing tape, as negotiations appear to be collapsing. The man has a change of heart and cuts her loose, with the intention of going out in a hail of bullets, but the woman makes one final attempt to reason with him.
