Debbie Reynolds plays Nell Nash in this goofy crime comedy in which her nervous husband Nash buries a blackmailer under the new gazebo in their backyard. toward the end of the film, Nell is caught by some phony cops and taken back to her house. They tie her to a chair and question her about the blackmailer and what she and her husband know. The gazebo collapses and the men go to investigate. Nell makes a desperate struggle to use the phone but topples her chair in the process. The crooks come back with a satchel of cash, and yank the phone out of the wall. Nell's hubby finally comes home and cuts her loose from the chair, well-- somewhat.
