A family of undercover superheroes is called to action when other superheroes meet with terrible accidents. Toward the end of the film, after a fight with several goons, the heroes, including Elastigirl (voiced by Holly Hunter) and her daughter Violet (voiced by Sarah Vowell) are caught and paralyzed in the force fields of the villain Syndrome. They are later shown suspended in a force field and super-shackles at cover both hands and feet as he details his plan. Syndrome leaves, and as daddy soliloquizes about the "lessons he's learned" Violet uses her force field to free herself and shut off the machine holding her family captive.
