In this dark comedy, a financially strapped car dealer hires two lowlifes to kidnap his wife in order to extort one million dollars from her father. In this clip, Jean Lundegaard (Kristin Rudrüd) is knitting and watching TV and is horrified to see a masked man on the back porch. A mad chase through the house ensues, and Jean is knocked down the steps and falls unconscious on the floor. As the kidnappers are transporting their victim, they get pulled over by local police, who gets suspicious of the pair after hearing the noises in the backseat, and gets shot in the head for his trouble. Afterward, while taking Jean out of the car, she makes makes a wild dash for freedom with her hands tied behind her back and a sewed up ski cap covering her face. After laughing as she stumbles, falls and smacks into several trees, the kidnappers recollect her. In the cabin, Jean is shown tied in a chair.
