Misa Uehara plays Princess Yuki and Toshiko Higuchi plays her maidservant (masquerading as the princess) in this classic Japanese period adventure in which the princess and a general try to escape across enemy lines during a prolonged war. In this extended clip, the companions are cornered and captured by enemy soldiers. Afterward, the victorious troops want a look at her great beauty but are turned away when an officer arrives to properly identify them. The prisoners are seated on their knees, tied to posts with rope. the princess and the general appeal to the man's honor, but he leaves. The following morning, the captives are taken to their executions, still securely bound, with the princess and general on horseback, the maidservant on foot. The procession is interrupted by the officer who has had a change of heart, keeps the soldiers at bay with his spear and cut the captives free.
