Following a cryptic set of clues to an legendary treasure leads to trouble for our Baywatch gang, when they run afoul of crooked mountain men also after the gold. the baddies bottleneck the river with gunfire and then show that Shauni McClain (Erika Eleniak) has been captured, as she's held bound and gagged with red bandanna, struggling in the clutches of one of her kidnappers. They'll exchange the girl for the gold, and threaten to toss her off a high rock into the river if they don't comply. Mitch hatches a scheme. With C.J. Parker ( Pamela Anderson) delivering the gold, and the guys trying to sneak up on the crooks. A struggle ensues and Shauni gets dropped into the drink. The guys dive in after her and the crooks escape.
Later, after recovering a huge gold nugget dubbed "The Boot" from a crypt-like cave, the hillbillies get the drop on everyone again, as the local sheriff is in league with them. Mitch is sealed up in the cave and left to starve, and the rest are tied back to back in pairs, loaded into their raft and sent spiraling off into the roughest part of the whitewater, which leads to a treacherous cavern called the Devil's Mouth. Mitch somehow tunnels out of the cave, hijacks the crooked sheriff's kayak and makes the rescue.
