Cathy Muller (Keira Knightley) is violently kidnapped by Russian agents directly from Jack Ryan's headquarters. the car she's riding in is rammed repeatedly by an armored jeep, she's dragged kicking and clawing into another vehicle and driven away. Our hero gives desperate chase. Meanwhile, Cathy sits in the back of the vehicle, with her upper body bound up with duct tape. Cathy activates her hidden tracking device. The kidnappers retrieve their boss at another location. Jack Ryan continues pursuit. A cellphone call from the lead baddie to Jack reveals he wants a memory stick the spies have stolen or else he'll explode a compressed gas light bulb in Cathy's mouth, likely killing her. The chase continues...
