Our hero launches his own investigation into the occupants of penthouse after witnessing an apparent strangulation murder while on a helicopter tour of Santa Barbara. Toward the end of the episode, Joanna Salt (Katherine Woodville) lies on a bed with her hands tied in front with a stocking, and gagged with a folded hankie held in her mouth with a stocking as the baddies plan to murder her, stuff her body in a trunk and escape. But the male baddie hasn't the heart to kill his own niece, until the manipulative bitch he's partnered with goads him into suffocating her with a pillow. Our hero intervenes just in time.
