Nancy Stafford plays lawyer Michelle Thomas, Matlock's assistant who gets kidnapped by some thugs who want information about a mob attorney who has just been killed. She's nabbed at gun point and taken to a hideout and we next see her gagged and bound while the kidnappers call Matlaock who has been giving a statement to the police. Later, while one of the creeps is busy trying to fix the overhead fan, the other thug is trying to come on to Michelle as she sits helplessly tied and gagged in a chair. Finally, Michelle has been moved the mob boss's home, but the police are closing in and Matlock sneaks into the house to look for her just as the one mobster the cops had sent in wearing a wire is trying to slip away with her.
