From Hanna-Barbera Fun #1 (courtesy of those fine lads and lasses over at C3C) we have this short P.P. adventure, with our darling gal in a familiar situation- being menaced by the Hooded Claw and his henchmen the Bully Brothers. It's a condensed version of her jungle adventure.

Saturday Morning Cartoons: It's a Penelope Pitstop Blow-out !

Today Danger Theatre presents the final episode of The Perils of Penelope Pitstop made, and I thought it proper to send her off with a bang (pun intended). Before we get to that final episode, on the DVD set, there was a charming little background piece about the development of the show, with brief interviews by producer Scott Jeralds, Paul Dini- one of the writer/producers for the show, as well as Janet Waldo- the voice of Penelope Pitstop herself.

The Perils of Penelope Pitstop: London Town Treachery *HQ DVD Rip*














Penelope is visiting London to deliver a painting to the Earl of Crumpet. The Hooded Claw has a different plan in mind. He grabs Penelope and the painting. He takes her to the top of a clock tower and ties her up underneath a razor sharp pendulum with a horde of hungry pigs acting as the weight. As the pigs eat the corn that falls from the chute, they get fatter and heavier and the blade descends lower. Afterward, the Claw lures Penelope and the Ant Hill Mob to a phony house of the Earl of Crumpet for tea. Finding no tea, he serves up whatever brew he finds in the cupboard. Too bad the house used to belong to Dr. Jekyll and the Ant Hill Mob have now turned into miniature Mr. Hydes who kidnap Penelope, lock her in a cage with a rocket attached to send her screaming into the depths of nearby lake to feed a hungry sea monster. Will the Ant Hill Mob change back in time to save her? Will they get the painting back and deliver it to the Earl of Crumpet?

Saturday Morning Cartoons: The Perils of Penelope Pitstop 'Game of Peril' *HQ DVD Rip*

Penelope falls into danger yet again while on a scavenger hunt for charity, as the Hooded Claw and the Bully Brothers scheme to do her in once again with goofy traps. First, the unicycle Penelope is riding has a hidden motor on it which propels her off a cliff. Afterward- she's captured, tied to an anvil hung from a moving platform which will squash her when a hungry moth chews through the rope holding her up. Next, she's tied up on top of a trapdoor, the catch tied to frying pan awaiting an egg from a hen, which will awaken a sleeping bear, who will pull the pan, open the trapdoor and drop Penelope 1000 feet onto a bed of spikes. The Claw next disguises himself as a little boy and tries to lure Penelope into getting crushed by a falling safe (pushed by the Bully Brothers) with the offer of home run winning baseball for her scavenger hunt. Then while trying to photograph passing whales, she's snatched up by the Claw's submarine, trussed up on a torpedo which will be launched skyward and into a dormant volcano. Finally, Penelope is hung up 40 stories with a rope where the blade of an axe positioned on a passing elevator will cut her loose and send her plummeting into a gravel crusher.
